Fleur le Cordeur was born straight after our wedding. Two of our guests were Wedding Planners, and contacted me to find out who did the flowers for our wedding as they were very different to the norm, and absolutely beautiful. To their surprise the flowers were done by my mother and I as we knew what we wanted for the occasion, we never looked back. My husband had encouraged me to start my own business, and together with my mother’s expertise and my passion for flowers and art, we have built a reputation for outstanding quality and delivery within any budget. Being a new “le Cordeur” at the time, the name Fleur le Cordeur seemed very fitting.
We are recognised by our unique style, which is a combination of absolute passion for the beauty of flowers, raw natural talent and more than 40 years of combined experience. We are a highly motivated family team that aims to deliver creative flowers for any type of event, ranging from small special occasions to weddings, as well as events such as matric dances and corporate functions. We are a specialist niched consultancy and are happy to work together with any event company or wedding planner and bring our unique value adding skills to the table.
Our Approach
We feel that it is very important to co-create the design of the flower arrangements with the client as the message that the flowers produce should be clear and compelling to those who will take part in the visual experience. We will work within your budget and we will deliver a quality product – fresh and gorgeous. We work closely with your event coordinators as part of the team or if preferred on our own. We typically source the best flowers from our chosen local flower farmers directly and we will always be on site to ensure the quality is of highest standard.
The Team
Heike le Cordeur – founder, owner, wife and mother. Heike is a highly creative passionate individual who loves every thing beautiful. She has the highest standards and always makes sure she pushes the boundaries a little further and always without exception over-delivering to her clients. Her passion for flowers started when she was a little girl helping her mother with flower arrangements for weddings when her mother was an events company owner. There are very few things she can not mobilise in order to achieve the highest standards.
Johanna Viljoen – 30 years of experience in the flower industry, a masters degree in fine arts and full time missionary and councillor. This beautiful woman can add unique flavour to any arrangement and her relaxed way of working will make you feel very calm on your special day. Also our mother and advisor.
Silke Viljoen – sister and best friend. This fun loving person can light up your day with her creative ideas and her can do spirit. She will just get on with the job and never complain!
Mari September – the machine on the team. Nothing is too daunting for her and she can do an hour job in a few minutes without ever compromising quality – and she does it with a smile!
Elizabeth September – our Nanny with a heart of gold. However, when Indya goes down for a nap she is the first to get her hands dirty helping wherever she can to make sure we deliver above expectation.
Andrew le Cordeur – finance and logistics. Our Pillar and greatest supporter. Most reliable in times of need. Best husband and coolest father!
It is very important to us to work together as a family, which puts emphasis on respecting each other’s strengths and weaknesses and using our different skills to match the most ambitious expectations. Our arrangements are created with love, compassion and a whole lot of expert input, so that you have one less thing to worry about!
